Smoked Beef Shins Recipe
Don’t let the size of these beautiful @harveybeefwa beef shins scare you! This recipe is super simple and can be replicated in the oven if needed. Check it out below;
Steps
- Trim and remove any excess fat and silver skin from the beef shin.
- Apply a generous layer of American mustard to all sides for the binder.
- Hit it heavy with your favourite BBQ beef seasoning on all sides.
- Place in the smoker upright set to roughly 125c cooking temp for 5 hours.
- Once the bark has set remove and place in a large roasting dish.
- Pour two cans of your favourite drinking beer to the tray.
- Wrap tightly in foil then place back in the smoker for a further 4.5 hours.
- Once the beef shin has hit an internal temp of 95C (203F) remove.
- Allow to rest for 30 minutes if needed or slowly rest in an esky for 2 hours for maximum tenderness.
- Remove the bone then pull in to nice chunks and enjoy. 🤗
