Steps
- For the bao buns, add 300g flour, 25 sugar, 5gbaking powder, 5g yeast, and 30ml oil to a mixing bowl.
- Heat 80ml milk and 100ml water until warm, then add to the mixing bowl.
- Mix until you have a rough dough.
- Pour on to a floured surface and knead with your hands for roughly 10 minutes until a smooth dough has formed.
- Place into a lightly oiled bowl, cover and proof for 1.5 hours.
- For the beef patties portion 500g Harvey Beef Mince in to 4 equal portions and roll in to balls.
- Shape into flat patties on a board and season both sides generously with Cheat Meats All Purpose Rub.
- Once the dough has proofed divide it into 6 even portions.
- Roll the dough in a circular motion until smooth.
- Place into a lined steamer and steam on high for roughly 12 minutes.
- Meanwhile grill the beef patties by placing onto a barbecue set to high for 4 minutes.
- Flip, add the burger cheese on top, and grill for a further 2-3 minutes until melted.
- After 12 minutes of steaming turn the heat off the pot and allow the Baos to sit for a further 5 minutes.
